DONATION SCHEME FOR STUDENTS IN 2021
The Board of Trustees of Tararua College have agreed to opt into the Government’s new school Donation Scheme. This means that College will receive $150 per student as part of its Operational Grant at the start of 2020.
The payment replaces the need for the school to request donations from parents/caregivers.
There are some costs which will still require payment such as school uniform, sports subs, musical instrument or singing tuition, costs for materials used in the production of items which are then taken home. (e.g. a table made in hard materials technology), extra-curricular clubs, and
optional activities (e.g. junior electives). Details of these costs will be made clear when a student signs up for an activity.
A donation of overnight camps as part of specific course delivery may be requested by the College. These, however, are voluntary payments and will be at the discretion of the parents/caregivers as to whether they pay none, part of or all of the donation.
Voluntary donations can still be paid to the school by parents/caregivers and will always be welcomed, but these will not be requested or appear on the students school account.
During the year additional costs may arise for special events, items or activities such as school photos and visiting theatre groups.
If a family has concerns regarding their ability to pay any donations they should contact the Business Manager, Mr. Phil Marsh This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.or the Principal's PA, Ms Kim Burt
